Nigerian troops on Friday, July 29, ambushed and killed two fleeing Boko Haram terrorists.
In a press statement by Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the acting director on army public relations, it was revealed that one of the terrorists escaped with gun shot wounds.
The statement read in parts: “The troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle with registration number S 77411, a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with registration number FN 131908, one motorcycle, one bicycle and five Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle magazines.
“Other items recovered from the terrorists include one AK 47 rifle magazine loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 67 rounds of 7.62mm linked (NATO) ammunition, Tecno brand of mobile telephone handset with NEXTTEL SIM card, and sacks of foodstuffs.

“The troops have continued their routine operations maintaining vigilance to prevent escaping Boko Haram terrorists out of Sambisa forest through that axis.
Recall that Colonel Usman, announced the complete elimination of Boko Haram terrorist group camps in the entire north-eastern part of Nigeria.
The great news was made public during the inauguration of Strategic Communication Course for senior officers at the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information in Bonny Camp, Lagos.
Meanwhile, in September 2015 Colonel Rabe Abubakar, the director of information at the defence headquarters, announced that all known Boko Haram camps and cells had been destroyed, and that the group was so weakened that they could no longer hold any territory.

Also, in December 2015 President Muhammadu Buhari has claimed that Boko Haram was “technically defeated.”
