General Director of CSKA Moscow, Roman Babaev has acknowledged the fact the departure of the Ahmed Musa to Leicester City made him sad.
“With a heavy heart we agreed to accept this offer.
“Over the past few years Ahmed became one of the key players for our club.
“At the same time we didn’t want to put up obstacles for the player who is wanted by the reigning champion of England.
“Leicester made a great offer for the club and for Ahmed. Musa has made an outstanding progress during the last four and the half years with us.
“We shared many unforgettable moments and he fully deserved the step up to the next level. We wish him all the success in the future career,” Babaev told the club’s official website.

Musa made his debut for CSKA in February 2012 in the Champions League match against Real Madrid. He went on to play 168 times for the Russian champions and scored 54 goals.
The Super Eagles vice captain signed a four-year deal with Leicester City on Friday, July 8, to become the club’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Nampalys Mendy, Ron-Robert Zieler and Luis Hernandez.
The former Kano Pillars winger will feature for the Premier League Champions in the 2016/2017 Champions League competition without going through the qualification stage as they will be seeded in the group phase.
Musa was Super Eagles captain until he recently relinquished the position to Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel when Samson Siasia was appointed interim coach .
