– The APC governorship primary election in Ondo state has been delayed

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo state has postponed its governorship primary election originally scheduled for Saturday, November 27.
Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, the party’s publicity secretary, has made the announcement in a statement issued on Wednesday in the capital Akure.

It reads in part: “The decision was communicated to the state chapter at the end of the emergency National Working Committee meeting of the Party today, August 24, 2016.”
The election has been postponed till Wednesday, August 31 due to “logistics reasons.”
Recall that earlier there were controversial reports about the governorship election to take place at Ondo military barracks due to fears of possible violence.

Meanwhile, there’s tension among party members as some APC members started a gunfight after accusing Isaac Kekemeke, the chairman, of anti-party activities, manipulation of the delegates’ list and an attempt to promote an aspirant for the governorship primaries.
In a related development, Eyitayo Jegede, the former commissioner for justice and attorney-general of Ondo state, on Monday, August 22, won the the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) primaries to be the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming governorship election.
