Difficult choice to make: mother does incredible thing to save her only daughter

Chloe Dunstan and her husband Rohan had a big and happy family. Their three boys rarely gave parents a free moment, but the Dunstans were delighted to have them around. Having kids tops everything that a person may ever get in this world, so they fairly filled their quota for a never-sleep parental experience. However, they desperately wanted a girl and decided to try one last time for their fourth and final baby.

When Chloe found out she was pregnant, the whole family was over the moon. It’s always exciting to wait for a new arrival, and parents were making plans on what name to pick up, how to decorate the baby room and other new-mom-and-dad related stuff. Boys also enjoyed the idea of having a baby sibling, dreaming on how they would share toys with their sister (they did want a girl) and protect her from a neighbor’s cat.

When the time came, Chloe went to take an ultrasound which showed she was carrying triplets. Obviously, the woman was completely shocked, yet also excited and overwhelmed with emotions.

A few weeks later, when she came to the hospital to undergo a regular check up, the doctor turned her excitement into heartbreak as the results were rather dispiriting. Turned out, one of the babies, a girl, wasn’t growing much as her brothers didn’t give her enough space, and the situation aggravated with each day passing. Doctors began to tell Chloe that she could let the little girl pass away in order to save the boys. There was also an option to undergo an operation, but surgically removing three babies risked all of them. The woman was to make a tough decision.

Chloe thought it over before making the final answer. Despite doctor’s precautions, she wanted all of her babies to be born and believed her little girl was strong enough to survive because she made it to 28 weeks. The delivery went not as smooth as doctors expected, and over the first weeks of their lives the babies went through a lot. Little Pearl struggled the most, and the woman often had a feeling she made the wrong decision.

However, with each passing day all three babies grew stronger and stronger. Everything worked out so well, and the Dunstans never stop counting blessings when thinking of the alternative.

Now, the whole family is reunited at home and happy mom and dad are about to experience something new. They have already got used to caring about three children, but now there’re six of them, all under 4 years old, and proud Chloe and Rohan will have to triple their efforts to do their best. Sure, they’ll do fine.
