Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has signed into law a bill which prohibits the grazing of cattle in the southwest region by herdsmen.
Daily Post reports that Fayose appended his signature on Monday, August 29 in front of an audience of about 3,000 traditional chiefs in Ekiti state.

With this new law, herdsmen cannot carry weapons or move cattle or any other animals from one location to another.
Violation of this law would bag an offender six months imprisonment without option of fine. On the other hand, any herdsman found with arms will be promptly charged with terrorism. READ ALSO: Fast all in one — UC Browser Meanwhile, applause has begun to pour in for Fayose over his move to stop the criminal activities of Fulani herdsmen by signing the grazing prohibition bill into law.
Leading the praise-singers is former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, who believes Fayose and the people of Ekiti state have taken the right step to stop rampaging Fulani herdsmen.
