Just in – Budget padding: Jibrin arrives DSS (Photos, video)

The former chairman of the House of Representatives committee on appropriations, Abdulmumin Jibrin has arrived the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.

The former chairman arrived the DSS office at exactly 12.49am on Monday, August 1.

Jibrin is currently inside the office of the chairman of the security agency Lawal Daura to file a petition against the speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara.

Jibrin had alleged various levels of corruption against Dogara, the deputy speaker of the House Yusuf Lasun, the whip of the House Alhassan Dogo and the minority leader of the House Leo Ogor and nine other members of the House.

Jibrin was earlier at the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) where he filed a petition against the speaker.

He alleged that the speaker alongside his associates illegally added over N40 billion to the already passed appropriation bill.

At the ICPC, Jibrin told NAIJ.com that he expected a quick investigation into the allegations by the commission.

Meanwhile, deputy president of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, is insisting that he is being prosecuted by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.

Ekweremadu, who is facing prosecution with Senate President Bukola Saraki for forgery of the rules if the upper chamber, says he is just being persecuted for becoming the second in the chain of command against the wishes of some powerful people.

The Sun reports that Ekweremadu spoke when he received members of the Enugu State Economic Advisory Committee at his residence in Enugu.
