Nigerian rower, Chierika Ukogu has qualified for the semi-final of the Women’s Single sculls rowing event at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Ukogu who finished fifth in Quarterfinal 3 was initially knocked out but was later recalled to take part in the semifinal C/D 1 Nigerian.
The 24-year-old’s event is on Thursday, August 10, 3:30PM (Nigerian time).

Ukogu is the first Nigerian to represent the country in rowing describing how she would love to make Nigeria proud in the rowing event.
Ukogu is a graduate of Stanford University and trained with the US team before the Rio 2016 Olympics.
