Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, the former military president, has celebrated his 75th birthday with special prayers surrounded by family, close friends and associates at his Hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger state.
Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida was born on 17 August 1941
Shiek Isah Fari, the chief imam of Minna, along with other Islamic scholars visited the ex-leader on his special day.

He ruled Nigeria from August 27, 1985 to August 27, 1993
Among other visitors were Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, the governor of Niger state, General Abdulsalami, and members of the state executive council.
IBB was almost killed on April 22, 1990

Babangida attempted a transition to civilian rule
President Muhammadu Buhari has also praised the former military president Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida in a congratulatory message he personally signed and relayed to the ex-leader.
