– A video showing a group of people throwing stones and other objects at Governor Yahaya Bello of the Kogi state has surfaced

– The incident was filmed by an unnamed eyewitness who later uploaded it to the internet, claiming he had captured the exact moment of the attack

A footage showing the moment Governor Yahaya Bello of the Kogi state being stoned shortly after the Jumat prayer in Lokoja, the state capital, last week has emerged.

The governor promised that the “politically motivated attack” would be thoroughly investigated and those found guilty be punished

Recall that the governor wa bombarded with stones, rotten fruits and vegetables by the disgruntled locals who also carried placards and chanted anti-government slogans as a reaction to the worsening economic situation in the state.

However, teacting to the development Kingsley Fanwo, the governor’s press secretary, said that the incident was provoked by those who are against his radical reforms in the state’s civil service.

He is convinced that thugs were hired by his political enemies who are pursuing personal interests. Earlier today Naij.com has published a photo depicting a group of thugs that reportedly stoned the Kogi state governor.
