Adeolu via his Instagram page gave a personal account of what transpired and how he lost his friend in the rescue mission.
He wrote: I cant forget this day…. The day we rescued the second chibok girl Sera Luka from the hands of her abductors. It wasnt easy that day, 35 of Terrorist died in a firefight and we rescued 79 hostages, mostly women and children including her. I hated that day because it was the day i lost my buddy, brother and a fighter! We were unable to return fire because they were using the hostages as bullet cover… We cant engage directly even as we were massively fired at… Hundreds of them fled, but we managed to rescue few , dislodged them, burn down there camps and recovered mass number of weapons and ammunitions. We advanced tactically towards them even when they were firing and we coundnt return fire , with the aid of MRAPs we moved. I was in a hilux, the hilux had over 15 bullet hole and a chattered wind screen! Only Almighty Allah saves!
