In series of tweets on his Twitter handle on Thursday, September 1, Fani-Kayode slammed Adeosun for saying that economic recession is just a word and noted that her comments on the state of economy were ‘daft and insensitive’ to the feelings of Nigerians who are the ones bearing the brunt of the harsh economic conditions.
Not yet done, Fani-Kayode, who did not mention Adeosun’s name but aptly described her statement, also mocked her British accent as ‘low class’.

He described the finance minister as an affliction on the nation’s economy which is now sitting squarely in a recession. The former media director of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign team in 2016 also fired shots at those supporting President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies on social media.

But Fani-Kayode did not get away easy as some Nigerians described his attack on Adeosun as equally inappropriate.
@realFFK with due respect Sir, people like you are not worthy critics of the government. Let not be fooled, u part of the problem.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians have described as stupid and reckless the statement by opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asking President Buhari to resign because he is incompetent.
Others wondered which faction of the PDP was calling for the resignation of the president, whether it’s the one led by Ahmed Makarfi or the Ali Modu Sheriff faction.
“We join all well-meaning Nigerians to call on Mr. Buhari to resign if he is unable to reverse the disastrous economic decline he has brought on Nigerians,” the party had said.
