Fulani herdsman arraigned in Enugu court

A Fulani herdsman, Ibrahim Adamu, has been arraigned before an Enugu Magistrate Court for being in possession of AK 47 rifle and ammunitions.


According to a police bulletin, Adamu was arrested with the items on August 29 at Affa in Udi local Government Area of Enugu State.

He was arraigned on three- count charge of illegal possession of fireams and having under his control AK 47 rifle with 24 rounds of live ammunition in contravention of the Firearms Act and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 6(a) and punishable under Section 3(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (special provision) Act Cap.R11 vol.14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

Magistrate D. K. Ekoh remanded the suspect in prison.
