Godwin Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Edo state governorship election has won the election.
The election which took place on Wednesday, September 28, saw many people come out to support their preferred candidates.
He was announced winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday after polling 319,483 votes.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Andrew Ize-Iyamu, got 253,173 votes.

Nigerians have started sending congratulatory messages to Obaseki. However, some others are not happy that the APC defeated the PDP.
