The match lived up to its billing as both teams showed their might in the contest but the Blues were the eventual winners in the grudge match.
Despite trailing 4-0, Manchester fans were the loudest and that sparked the Chelsea manager into marching up and down the touchline urging the Chelsea crowd to make more noise.
And Mourinho’s reaction was picked up by nearby microphones. He said: “Don’t do that (celebrate) at 4 – 0. 1-0 okay, but 4 – 0 is humiliating”. When asked what he told Conte, Mourinho refused to comment.

In his turn Conte reacted: “I was listening to the support of Manchester United, always supporting their team and after a great win like this I was asking my fans to do a clap for the players for the performance.”
He stressed: “I think this is normal. All the players deserve this clap.”
Conte added: “When there is a private conversation it is right to remain private, I have great respect for Jose, he is a great manager and he won a lot here”.
Speaking about the game the manager noted: “I am pleased with a great performance. We started very well, with high intensity and moving the ball quickly, creating chances to score the goal.
“I see the commitment of the players in training every day and they deserve this. We are improving; we must continue to work, because only through the work we can improve. We know that we have a long way to go, but I’m satisfied.”
And now Pedro Rodriguez, who scored the first goal of the match, added some details: “Mourinho’s reaction was out of context. Conte was not making humiliating gestures or jeering. He was only cheering on the fans because we had played a great game and he wanted the supporters to sing in order to help us finish the game in the best possible way.”
The star added: “I don’t know if Mou considered it a lack of respect or a provocation but that was not Conte’s intention. Conte just wanted to thank the fans for the support. The fans were incredible.”
He continued: “There was a touchline spat between the two coaches at the end of the game but I reiterate that there was no bad intention from Conte. We all know how Mou is and the comments he makes. But he is a great coach and I can attest to that. Perhaps the defeat was tough on him.”
