– One of the richest hotel owners in Nigeria, Goodie Ibru, has been declared wanted by the EFCC

– He was declared wanted over capital market fraud, money laundering and other related offences

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday, October 12, declared business mogul and chairman of Ikeja Hotels Plc, Goodie Minabo Ibru, wanted.

A statement by Wilson Uwujaren, the head of media and publicity of the EFCC, read: “The public is hereby notified that Goodie Minabo Ibru is wanted by the EFCC in connection with a case of conspiracy, capital market fraud, stealing, diversion of funds and money laundering.

“He allegedly diverted billions of naira and assets of Ikeja Hotels Plc, owners of Sheraton Hotel, Lagos; Federal Palace Hotel and Capital Hotel; owners of Sheraton Hotel Abuja to his personal benefit.”

EFCC declares Ibru wanted

The anti-graft agency asked that anyone with useful information about his whereabouts should contact the commission.

Recall that last year, the EFCC filed an 11-count criminal charge against Ibru and three firms at the Lagos High Court in Igbosere.

The commission accused Goodie Ibru, who is the elder brother of late Guardian founder, Alex Ibru of a N1.3 billion fraud.
