Since childhood we were told that squirrels are fluffy and cute rodents who eat nuts and seeds, but it looks like not all squirrels are so innocent.

One African squirrel got so peckish that it attacked a snake

One African and obviously extremely hungry squirell even managed to hit headlines after it attacked a snake, sparking an epic battle and winning it!

Dramatic footage of the fight shows the brave rodent pouncing on the snake and not letting its tail go.

The desperate rodent came back for more, sinking its teeth into the snake as it repeatedly bit the squirrel in frantic deference

The snake abruptly turns its head and hisses in pain trying to set itself free but all in vain.

The next moment the reptile manages to force the squirrel back away with a fright.

The snake suffocating the enemy

But the savage animal is not ready to give up and sinks its teeth into the wriggling snake as it repeatedly bites the squirrel back.

The desperate snake is seen wrapping the rodent up trying to suffocate it, while it keeps ripping the snake’s skin.

In the end, the defeated bloodied snake curls up and the video ends.

The snake’s head was left bloody after one ferocious clash

Squirrels’ diets consist primarily of a wide variety of plants, including nuts, seeds, conifer cones, fruits, fungi, and green vegetation.

However, some squirrels also consume meat, especially when faced with hunger.

Squirrels have been known to eat insects, eggs, small birds, young snakes, and smaller rodents.
