Why We Must Sell PDP Again To Nigerians – Gov Aliyu

Niger State governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has stated that nothing will deter him from continually promoting his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Nigerians to buy into its manifesto.

Aliyu, who made this comment yesterday in Minna, noted that his recent statement that the PDP will win in Niger State and Nigeria did not mean he had a particular candidate in mind.

He said though there was no major difference between the manifestoes of political parties in Nigeria, it became necessary for the PDP to beat other political parties.

The governor who received a visiting football team, sponsored by the state PDP chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Enagi, said he had no candidate for now but would continue to strategise for PDP.

“When I said the other time that PDP will retain Nigeria and Niger State, some people mistook it; the statement is not a support for an individual. I am a PDP member and a loyal one and I must sell my party and I will do it in such a way that Nigerians will buy.

“I don’t know whether I will reach 2015, so when I talk, I am not supporting a particular candidate for now. Time will tell who will be where and what will happen in 2015,” he said.

The governor, however, urged PDP members to remain loyal to the party and patriotic to Nigeria, noting that the manifestoes of the PDP and those of other parties were similar.
