Osun APC Chides Sambo Over Statement

Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday rejected alleged “war intentions” of Vice President Namadi Sambo over the statement credited to him on the July 21 and August 9 elections in Ekiti and Osun states.

Sambo was said to have declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would need to fight a war to regain the two states at all cost.

But in a statement by  its director of publicity, research and strategy,  Kunle Oyatomi, the APC said: “This is a sadistic declaration of war by a government on its own people and it is also patently evidence that the PDP is the actual cause of the war Nigeria has been having in recent time, including that of Boko Haram.”

The party  warned that “the PDP should think twice before it imports war to the western part of the country that has been the most peaceful area since the return of democracy.”

The APC observed that “already, the federal government has series of war on his hand which it has failed to win,” adding that “to therefore start a new war on a peaceful people in the west will be biting more than the government can chew.”

But in a reaction, Director of Media and Strategy, Omisore Campaign Organisation, Diran Odeyemi, said the APC should first clear the alleged importation of weapon of war by the APC-led government of Osun State.

Odeyemi retreated  the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Iyiola Omisore’s commitment to the peaceful conduct of the August 9 governorship election in the State.
