INFERNO: Fire Consumes 3 Children, Goods In Delta

A mysterious fire outbreak has consumed three children in Tuomo community of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, while goods and property worth millions of naira, have been destroyed.

Reports said that the incident which occurred on Tuesday night, gutted the shanty house where the three kids were sleeping.

Eye witnesses said that the fire started at about 2:00am on that fateful day, destroying everything in its wake, leaving residents of the building in helpless situation.

Sources said that the fire started right inside one of the shops where no one sleeps and as the rescue team making attempt to put out the raging fire, it escalated and overwhelmed the entire building.

Narrating her ordeal, a victim who survived the inferno, Mrs. Deme Ezoukwu, expressed shock over the great loss and wondered why fire could gut a shop that was under lock and key.

She explained that she left for an all-night programme in her church that day, adding that on her return, she discovered that her business premises has been razed down.

Her words, “I went to attend an all-night church programme that night, before I came back, I found that mysterious fire has gutted my shop and consumed all the things in the shop and it has left me with nothing. But I thank God I am alive”.
