Reports said the suspects, natives of Asaba, were arrested on Sunday evening by the Police on a tip-off after two sets of underwear reportedly got missing.
It was reliably gathered that there have been frequent stealing of petty things in the area known as Ogbeakaze quarters in Asaba where the suspects live before their arrest.
Confirming their arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Celetina Kalu, said they were arrested based on a petition to the police by some leaders of thought in the area who suspected them of stealing.
After they were interrogated, the suspects confessed to the crime. DSP Kalu said that the suspects are still undergoing interrogation at the State CID and would be charged to court for stealing.
Sources said neighbours have also complained of missing meat in pots of soup and and that they no longer leave their pots of soup on fire without proper monitoring.
