Stop Attacking The Integrity Of INEC, FG Tells APC

As the 2015 general elections draw nearer, the Federal Government has warned the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, to stop attacking the integrity of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Making the statement on Wednesday was the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, through his Twitter handle, @renoomokri.

Omokri tweeted that APC politicians should restrain themselves from attacking the integrity of INEC, adding that “If a husband kills the midwife who will deliver the baby” ?

Less than an hour after the special adviser posted the tweet, it has gone viral with over thirty re-tweets and more than ten favourites.

It would be recalled that next year’s presidential election in Nigeria has been speculated to be a two horse race between incumbent President Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Only last week, the FG led by President Goodluck Jonathan advised all presidential candidates in the country not to incite bloodshed when they lose in next year’s polls.
While referring to the violence that happened in some parts of northern Nigeria after the 2011 general elections, Omokri had stated on a Facebook account, ‘Build Up NIgeria’, ‘SHARE this post to press home our demands that none of the Presidential candidates must incite bloodshed when they lose in 2015.’Nobody’s blood is worth the ambition of anyone!
