Unknown Gunmen Kill Prince

Inspite of anger and pains of the loss of the 29-year-old man, an indigenous cattle rearer, to Fulani herdsmen who were just passing through the community, the community leader urged the youths of the area to sheathe their swords and avoid vengance.

Investigation into the incidence by LEADERSHIP revealed that the prince had gone into the bush with his cattle when the herdsmen who took advantage of the isolated place to kill him.

When the villagers could not find Haruna after the day’s work, a search party discovered his lifeless body in a pool of his blood with machete cuts all over the body.

The community youths mobilised for attack on the Fulanis but the chief told them that even if all Fulanis were killed, his son would not return tolife, instead the action would cause a breakdown of peace in the community in view of fragile security situation in the land.

The police spokesperson told our reporter that the homicide squad deployed to find out the cause of the matter was yet to brief the command.
