Cross River women plan protest against PDP

Six women groups in Cross River State have vowed to stage protest against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over alleged impunity by leadership of the party.
Spokespersons of the groups, Madam Evelyn Okomah and Florence Ntui Ayang, who spoke at Abijang and Nsofang communities in Etung Local Government Area of the state, said they have been forced to rise against the party.
The women groups include: Okotne women group, Ejen Enop Association, Sonyima women in politics, Kam-na Obase, Unity and Eno-Ekpon socio-political groups.
Okomah said: “There is going to be a powerful revolution. The political windstorm or revolution would blow away everything evil so as to give the party a new beginning.
“We shall mobilise all rural women against PDP. We have decided to desert the party. As you can see, we do not have access road to our communities.”
At Etomi community, another women leader, Pauline Ojong, said the defection of prominent PDP leaders in Cross River to Labour Party was an indication that the “umbrella was no more intact.”
