News reaching us reveals that The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, today, Feb 4, disclosed that the number of registered voters that have collected their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, amounts to 45,098,876.

This figure represents 66 percent of the 68,833,476 registered voters.

The challenge, arising from distribution of the PVCs, has created the call for postponement of elections, from some quarters, including Sambo Dasuki, the National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan.

However, The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, revealed that  Lagos State now has 5.9 million registered voters and insists that the 2015 elections will hold as scheduled.

Making this known, Kayode Idowu, Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega said that INEC had taken delivery of all the cards and distributed them to all the states of the federation.

Since the Commission has made available all the cards, he maintained that Nigerians have responsibility to urge those that are yet to collect their PVCs to do so.
