The Nigerian army together with the Allied Forces are reportedly battling with Boko Haram insurgents in the Mungulo Baga Area of Borno State.
Channels TV reports with reference to an eyewitness that the terrorists relaunched attack in Dikwa, Baga and Mungulo early morning of February 4.
According to the witness, the Allied Forces are prevailing and Boko Haram have already suffered great losses in the fight.
It was learnt February 2 that the army recaptured 5 Nigerian towns, from the insurgents over the weekend.
National security spokesman Mike Omeri confirmed the information by saying:
“Our troops are in control after operations which had the active support of volunteers (vigilantes) and our friendly neighbours.”
The good news came after Boko Haram had claimed Monguno and tried to seize Borno State capital Maiduguri.
