Dahiru Bauchi Praises President-elect, Buhari

Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, prominent Islamic
scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Movement in
Nigeria has described the victory of the General
Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in the last weeks
presidential polls as a sign of the acceptance of
the prayers of Nigeria by God.
Islamic scholar, who is also the deputy
chairman Fatwa Committee of the Supreme
Council Of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) told reporters
on Thursday, April 2, in Bauchi that “we have
directed for prayers before, during and after the
election.

We thank the almighty Allah, the
scholars and the entire Nigerians who prayed
seriously for peace and stability in the country
and we pray to see success of the polls and to
see the end of insecurity in the country. We
thank the almighty Allah who accepted our
prayers through Buhari's victory .”

While praising the president-elect and Nigerians,
he commended Buhari for his persistence and
confidence in a cause after losing three times in
the past before reaching victory this time.

He praised the chairman of the electoral
commission Professor Attahiru Jega for
presenting the card reader which assisted to
enable and a reliable election. Dahiru Bauchi
advised Buhari to endure the Almajiri schools
introduced by the current government for the
development of the country.
With results from all of Nigeria’s 36 states
calculated, the former military head of state,
Muhammadu Buhari, delivered a crushing defeat
to President Goodluck Jonathan , getting nearly
54% of the ballots to Jonathan’s 45 %.

The Independent National Electoral Commission
said the APC candidate won 15,424,921 votes of
the 28,587,564 total valid votes cast.
Jonathan, of the ruling party, won 12,853,162
