PDP NWC Not Involved In Spending Any Fund For Election Campaign

Chief Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dissociated the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) from receiving any part from any quarter for the election campaigns.

The controversy surrounded the handling of the PDP Presidential campaign funds over spending N2m for election campaigns.

The PDP spokesperson who stated this while speaking at a radio programme in Abuja on Monday, April 20, also noted that President Goodluck Jonathan has rejected ever spending the mentioned money on his campaigns but continued that NWC was not engaged in the controlling of any fund released for the campaign.

He further clarified that all funds during the campaign were focused and managed by the Directorates of the Presidential Campaign Organization, which the NWC had no control over.

It was early informed that Jonathan has set up a committee of five to get those concerned with the funds to return them.

It should be mentioned that current leader of the country Goodluck Jonathan lost the March 28 presidential poll to Muhammadu Buhari from the APC.

The president’s party PDP also lost the majority in both chambers of the parliament as well as losing more state executive and legislative positions to APC.
