The Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi
and his deputy, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo has officially resumed duty
at the new Lion Building, Government House, Enugu.
Governor Ugwuanyi on arrival to the office in the company of his
deputy Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo on Tuesday morning, were received by
the Permanent Secretary/Chief Administrative Officer, Government
House, Enugu, Mr. G.O.C. Ajah and the enthusiastic Government House
Staff in front of the Lion Building.
The Governor’s first day in office was started with an opening
air-interdenominational prayer session conducted by the Government
House Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Nwodo assisted by Rev. Emma Okoli
of the Anglican Communion.
In the prayer session which lasted for about ten minute, Rev. Nwodo
prayed God to protect, guide and direct the governor and his deputy
aright in the discharge of their official duties.
The Catholic Clergyman also prayed God to grant their Excellencies the
Wisdom of Solomon and courage of King David to lead the people of the
state without fear or favour and also sanitize their offices against
evil and demons.
He used the occasion to urge the staff of the Government House to put
in their best and support the Governor in the execution of his agenda
for the people of Enugu State.
The governor thereafter left his office accompanied by the
deputy, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo to inspect some government
institutions and establishment within Enugu the state capital to see
things for himself.
