Why Buhari Delayed The Ministerial List – Former APC Vice-Chairman

A former All Progressives Congress (APC) interim national vice chairman in the North-East , Dr. Umar Duhu, claims President Muhammudu Buhari will surprise Nigerians when his cabinet members are revealed.

Duhu told newsmen in Abuja yesterday that Buhari has delayed naming his minsters because he doesn’t want to name people with questionable character in his cabinet.

He also urged Nigerians to be patient with the president. He said though the country is moving forward even without constituted cabinet members, President Buhari is not complacent with the issue of naming ministers.

The APC Chieftain said: “I feel what is left is for the president to further look inward and try to seek among the best who can form the cabinet.”

Duhu urged Buhari to consider foundation members of the APC in his appointments.

Duhu said: “The foundation members of the APC suffered a lot to give Buhari a platform in which he contested and won. The foundation members of the APC also know how to guide this country. From the formation of the APC, they went to the length and breath of this country registering members into the party.”

Duhu alleged that the reason why politicians are not lobbying for poticial positions inlike under previous governments was because Buhari’s experience and dynamism wouldn’t make hem approach him.

“He contested three times and made it at the fourth attempt. This goes to tell you that from his records as a military officer he has a significant number of people in this country he knows can work perfectly,” he said.

Meanwhile, sources close to the presidency have said that, Buhari would not form a cabinet until the rot left behind by the last administration is cleared.
