The Adamawa state governor, Jibrilla Bindow has revealed why he is loyal to former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku served as the vice president during the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo drom 1992 to 2003. He had been elected governor of Adamawa state before being made the running mate of Obasanjo.

Daily Trust reports that Bindow said he shifted his loyalty from Murtala Nyako, the former governor of the state to Atiku because he donated N500 million to his political campaign.
He also accused some powerful people in the state of trying to tarnish his image because he didn’t do what they wanted.
He said: “Apart from the money from the headquarters, nobody gave me ten naira during the campaign. The former Vice President asked me if we had any financial problem. So, I called the party secretary, Abdullahi Bakari, who put our demand at N300 million. Then, the former vice president sent N500, million through Jauro.”

Atiku was succeeded by his deputy, Boni Haruna when he became the vice president under the Peoples Democratic Party.
