26-Year-Old Egwueke Joins European Club

Super Eagles and former Warri Wolves defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe has joined Finnish club, Kuopion Palloseura, on a one-year deal for an undisclosed amount.

Egwueke becomes manager Marko Rajamaki’s second signing, joining new arrival and American forward, Freddy Adu.

According to the club’s website, the Nigerian has agreed to feature for the club on a year deal. “Finnish football club Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS) and Nigerian national team player Azubuike Ekwuekwe have signed a 1+1-year contract,” the club announced on their website.

“The 26-year old defender has played for Nigeria in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013, in the African Cup of Nations 2014 and in the World Cup Qualifiers 2014. He also participated at the World Cup Final Tournament in Brazil 2014.”

He also played for local clubs like Nasarawa United, Yerima Strikers and Warri Wolves.
