Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state has ordered the closure of all markets in Ota township in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state from today, January 4.

He gave the order today during his interactive session with the people of the state on the state owned broadcasting outfits, OGTV and OGBC.
The governor stated that the order became necessary considering the dirty situation the markets are.
He frowned at the condition of the market when he visited during his monitoring exercise on Saturday and directed that the markets be closed down until the needful is done.
Amosun however re-echoed this tonight, threatening that anyone who flout the order by opening his shop tomorrow will be made to face the wrath of the law.
He condemned the dirtiness condition of the market, hinted that an healthy environ meant is a wealthy one.
The governor urged the people to stop dumping their refuse anyhow on the roadside, warned that anyone caught will be arrested.
He said: “We should all be vigilant about the refuse dumping. If any refuse is found by a road side, houses in front of the place in both sides will be death with.
“You can tell me that you don’t know who drop the refuse there,if it money,you will not bother to know who drop it before you pick it away. So, be watching others because you will all bear me witness then.
“Concerning the markets, can you imagine seeing how dirty the market is, when I get to Ijebu Ode,I was impressed with what I saw, I can give them between 80-85%, but I have told them to pack the remaining ones.
“But, we saw at Ota,Iyana Ijoko and some areas in Sango are not good at all. These people will drive investors out of your community. If you don’t know, Ota is gradually loosing the industrial hub of the state axis because now we are having like seven.
“Sagamu-Ogijo through Ikorodu is there, from Ita Oshin to Ewekoro area is another one. Ijebu ode- Sagamu axis is there,Onijanganjagan area down to interchange here is also getting attention. We are also looking at Ijebu Ode Epe area now.
“With all these,coupled with their dirtiness, Ota may be pushes aback. But I have ordered that all the markets be closed down and no one must open shops in that area until all the refuse are evacuated.
” If its one month the evacuation will last them it is until everything has been cleared off that the market will be opened,” Amosun threatened.

Meanwhile, the Ogun state government has finished plans to make available free voice over internet protocol to connect civil servants in the state in order to enhance productivity and hitch-free communication in the discharge of their official duties.
