The Yola South main market has been razed by an early morning fire on Monday, January 4.
Vanguard reports that the fire began around 3 am and affected stalls of market owners.
It was reported that fire service officials especially those from the American University of Nigeria managed the fire.

The market fire incident follows a spate of fire attacks in markets across the country especially in December, 2015.
A similar fire occurred at the popular Sabon Gari market, destroying completely, goods worth millions.
Thick smoke was seen billowing although the extent of the damage caused by the fire has not been ascetained.
In a related development, the popular Westminster market in Lagos was gutted by fire. Fire men deployed to the scene of the incident were able to manage the incident.
