Ekweremadu and Senate President Bukola Saraki are being tried for alleged forgery of the rules of the eighth Senate.

His supports, thousands of them, according to Daily Post, have locked down Enugu alleging persecution of their leader.

At the time of this report, the protesters were at Awgu, in Enugu west senatorial zone, asking that President Muhammadu Buhari must stop the persecution of their son.
