They were arraigned with Zulkifikk Abba, Abubakar Aliyu as well as five firms on 37 counts of money laundering, involving alleged diversion of over N29 billion belonging to the Adamawa government.

Following the death of Justice Evoh Chukwu, the chief judge of the Federal High Court, Ibrahim Auta, re-assigned the case to Justice Abang in June.

The case, which was initially scheduled to commence afresh July 7, was shifted because the court could not sit due to the extension of the Eid-el-Fitri holiday announced by the federal government on July 5.

The prosecution, led by Mr Rotimi Jacobs, had called six witnesses before Chukwu’s death while all the accused persons pleaded not guilty.
