Arsenal are beginning to look at alternative of a move for Valencia’s Shkodran Mustafi fails to materialize.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are looking at Atletico Madrid star Jose Gimenez as Mustafi’s price tag is concerning Arsenal’s transfer chiefs.
Uruguayan defender Gimenez is valued at £40m and the price tag is stumbling block for the Gunners but he remains an attractive option at only 21 years old.

Real Madrid were interested in the defender some months ago but their City rivals refused to sell and it is believed Arsenal will have to cough up a serious amount of money to tempt him to the Emirates.
A young, fast and strong defender, Gimenez played nearly 40 games for Atletico Madrid last season as Diego Simeone’s side reached the Champions League final.
His style – aggressive, tough in the tackle and good in the air – is exactly what Arsenal are lacking and they are looking to get him to partner Laurent Koscienly at the back.
