Sources on Twitter have claimed that €13m would be enough to bring the talented youngster to Europe.

Almiron, 22, signed for Argentine champions Lanús in 2015, after coming through the youth ranks at Cerro Porteño.

He was given his international debut at this summer’s Copa America.

Should the attacking midfielder completes a move to North London, it will mark an unusually busy week in the transfer market for Arsenal.

This follows a confirmation by Arsene Wenger on Saturday, August 27, that both Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez will join the North London team.

Wenger’s busy week in the transfer market, comes off the back of heavy criticism from Arsenal supporters, who were frustrated that Granit Xhaka was the only apparent big-money signing of the summer.

The deals for Mustafi, Perez and possibly  Almiron would take Arsenal’s spending to over £100m since last season.

The Gunners have already added midfielders Granit Xhaka and Kelechi Nwakali, defender Rob Holding and forward Takuma Asano to their squad. However, the Japanese youngster has gone on loan to Stuttgart.
