More embarrassment for the Nigerian Olympic Committee as Team Nigeria was wrongly dressed for the opening ceremony of the ongoing Rio Olympics.
According to various reports, the athletes had to wear tracksuits to the ceremony due to the unavailability of the traditional attires.
Other African countries wore their traditional attires and showcased their cultures, but Team Nigeria surprisingly came in their green and white tracksuits.

There are reports circulating that the traditional attires did not arrive Brazil on time for the athletes to wear.
Table tennis star Oshonaike Olufunke was the flag bearer for the Nigeria.

This comes just days after Nigeria’s Dream Team VI failed to respond as a wrong anthem was played as they filed out for the preliminary pleasantries against Japan, in their opening Group B fixture of the games.
Nigeria however went on to win the match 5 – 4 with Oghenekaro Etebo scoring our goals.
Recall that the Dream Team arrived Manaus, Brazil, about five hours before their opening fixture having been stranded in Atlanta, USA.
