Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has announced that his administration is kicking off a monthly revival session with the Deeper Life Christian Ministry.
According to Leadership, Wike says the monthly prayer session is state “for the spiritual upliftment of the state and her people”.

He said, “No man can provide security, other than God. Only God can move this state forward. We have worked hard and we seek God’s grace to consolidate our efforts.”
He made this declaration as he explained that Rivers turned down Super Eagles’ African Cup of Nations (AFCON) match Tanzanian on Saturday, September 3 because the state required the blessing from the Double Portion crusade of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry.

Wike said the monthly crusade is needed for General Superintendent of Deeper Life, Pastor William Kumuyi and the leaders of the church to intercede on behalf of Rivers State while he also described the programme as the state’s own spiritual investment.
Just last month, Wike has suspended four commissioners, the head of service and special adviser on lands for three months.
The suspension was made public by Simeon Nwakaudu, the special assistant to the governor on electronic media, in an official statement released in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, August 31.
Among the suspended officials are are Dr John Bazia, the commissioner of chieftaincy and community affairs, Mrs Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, the commissioner of culture and tourism, Fred Kpakol for finance and Mr Boma Iyaye for sports.
