A woman reportedly died barely 24 hours after she was sworn-in as permanent secretary
Barely 24 hours after she was sworn in as a permanent secretary in Ogun state, Mrs Olubunmi Odumusi was reported dead. According to family members, she had gone to bed and ended up dying in her sleep.
The 57-year-old journalist who was undergoing cancer treatment in the United States of America, reportedly flew into the country upon learning of her appointment, and even attended the ceremony in a wheelchair on Thursday, September 1.
Former Ogun state governor Gbenga Daniel, who worked with late Odumusi, had this to say:
”I join others in commiserating with the families of Mrs Olubunmi Odumusi. I have a vivid recollection of her as one of the very hardworking Directors who bought into the vision of our administration quite early.

“She was very active in the Regional Master Plan of the state which we did and was one of the topmost advocate of the Master Plan. Ogun State service has indeed lost a gem and my prayer is that God in his mercies will grant the family the grace to bear this painful loss at a time when they should be celebrating her promotion. Adieu.”
RIP to her!
