Aisha Buhari has launched the “Get Involved” campaign as a part of the Future Assured program designed to provide solutions to problems of child malnutrition.
First Lady of Nigeria believes that the initiative will attract well-intentioned, private sector represenattaives and non governmental organizations in response to the alarming outbreak of hunger at internally displaced camps.

Today was the fifth day of the event which was attended by politicians, high-ranking officials, wives of senators and activists.
According to the latest UNICEF report, more than 5 million newborns in Nigeria are deprived of essential nutrients.

Meanwhile, an estimated quarter of a million children in Borno state face severe malnourishment and risk death, as the scale of the humanitarian crisis caused by the Boko Haram emergency continues to unfold.

In early 2016, UNICEF appealed for $55.5 million to respond to the humanitarian crisis in north-east Nigeria, but has so far only received $23 million – 41%.
